June 2nd, 2024 –Luna Colony, The Moon – Genetectic (GTT) announced today, in a message to all media corporations in the system, significant changes to their replicant program in adherence to the "Act for the Dignity of Alternative Lifeforms."
" Effective immediately, GTT will transition from selling replicants to offering them on a lease basis for a five-year term, with enhanced protections for their rights and well-being.
Key Changes Include:
Leasing Model Implementation: GTT will no longer sell replicants outright. Instead, replicants will be leased to clients for a five-year term. This shift ensures replicants are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve, aligned with our commitment to ethical practices.
Enforced Protections: Clients must adhere to stringent protection clauses. Violations of these protections will result in the loss of all access to GTT services permanently. Additionally, violators will incur fines, including the full cost of the replicant if lost, on top of the leasing fees.
Rights in Security Roles: Replicants employed in security roles will now have the contractual right to refuse dangerous assignments. This provision ensures their safety and autonomy in hazardous situations."
