With the Martian Wars officially behind us, it seems that normalcy is coming to certain sectors more than others. A clear example of this is Advanced Research and Experimental Systems. Despite the outcome of the War, and the death of their CEO, the ARES board of directors hasn't slowed down and business continues to flow their way. United Armaments Corporation (UAC,) and All American Legacy Incorporated (AALI) have approached ARES for what seems to be a very lucrative weapons and development deal. Coming this weekend, there will be a meeting between Representatives of these corporations to finalize details. The Boards of Directors to both the United Armaments Corporation and All American Legacy Incorporated have already expressed interest in setting up branch offices on Luna, and have already paid the starting fee to the Office of the Governor for real estate to be released for corporate operations. UAC and AALI are not wasting time, as they have already engaged in recruitment efforts, calling to all brilliant technicians, engineers, doctors, researches, and even testers for field tests on weaponry to come and apply to what is described as a "once in a lifetime opportunity". It should be noted that the way this works, is that a corporation that wishes to expand through ARES conducts business directly with ARES, and ARES opens the door for these corporations to be on their own, essentially profiting by just recommending potential assets in the form of new corporate assets.
Following up with the mysterious movements that the Morpheus Group Management has done with the XX Casino, it appears that massive renovations have been underway for the past several days, many people have been seen going in while the Casino is technically closed, some reports also place a mysterious woman in the Casino vicinity, apparently overseeing operations in the locale. This makes things all the more strange and mysterious as there isn't an official statement from MGM, nor is there a calendar for shows in the Casino just yet.
Concerning Mars, the ongoing efforts to rebuild Hades Colony have continued to pay off. Last Sunday, and in the middle of an incredible acid storm, a new dome was placed and sealed on top of Hades Colony, protecting it from further damage from the ash, the sands, and the storms. A few hours ago, the power grid on the colony was successfully re-connected to the mysterious power source said to be installed somewhere in the depths of Hades Colony, and the life support systems have also been restored, as of this article, denizens are no longer required to wear pressure suits and helmets with their own individual life support systems, we're told that the oxygen levels are fully operational, and that temperature and gravity have been reset to default values again. While there's still work to be done to ensure that Hades Colony returns to its former glory (Such as cleanup and replacing fallen buildings,) the Natives, specifically the Hidden Demons Clan, appear to be making great progress in that regard. The reactivation of Mars Farms, and the Water Merchant Guild have also ensured a flow of Spartans/Credits into their local economy. The offer to receive refugees and anyone else who wants a change in their lives is still open from the Council of Martians.
Criminality is rising up on Cocoon Station, there are increasing reports of gangs taking over different locations on the station, one of the most talked about being the Reapers operating on Level Zero. The Reapers are said to be taking part in robbery, assault, and augmentation smuggling, sometimes combining the two and forcefully removing them from victims. Other rumored gangs to be taking residence in Cocoon Station are the Asakura Gumi, and the Red Tigers, and they are more than likely not the only ones. Ever since the repurposing of Armitech Private Defense's assets for the creation of the Cocoon Branch Office of SNS, and with the Hidden Demons focusing on the Martian Wars, several hangs have risen up to try and seize control with the power vacuum now in place. With Corporations issuing their own protection, the question remains, will these gangs taking their aggression on the Residents open the door for acts of vigilantism?
