As you know, Jericho V, a massive, state of the art Floating City was hijacked a few days ago, and destroyed by Advanced Research and Experimental Systems to avoid it being used as a weapon. As a result of the destruction, multiple fragments are now headed towards different locations in the Sol System. Epsilon Station was, unfortunately, testament of what one of these fragments can do, as they were destroyed when the fragment that collided against them caused a violent thermo nuclear chain reaction.

Arc Systems has determined that a massive fragment is headed to Cocoon Station and there are no signs that it is slowing down. While orbital defenses are set to fire on the fragment once it's in reach, the best projections from Arc Systems show that over 85% of the Station will suffer catastrophic damages, and essential systems (life support, gravity, power, among others) will have nearly 90% failure for at least a week. As the Starport is now filled with panicked denizens attempting to evacuate, most of the freighters are over capacity and awaiting permission to depart.

At the same time, NSI reports a partial recovery in comm systems all through the Sol System, this means that regional comms are mostly effective, but they won't be picked up outside their range by distant locations. The reason given is a massive Electromagnetic Pulse and the excessive radiation emitted from the Jericho V Fragments, while New Geneva has a dedicated team working on restoring comms as fast as they can, the main priority right now is ensuring the protection of corporate assets all over the Sol System.

Cocoon Corp has issued a warning to all denizens in Cocoon Station: Stay in your homes, avoid crowds and traffic, and spend your time with your loved ones.

EDIT1 [19012492:19:48]: Arc Systems has reported a malfunction on one of the main orbital defense sections assigned to the Starport, their projections have vastly changed for the worse based on this new variable, the Jericho V Fragment is still en route to Cocoon Station.

EDIT2 [19012492:20:23]: Arc Systems reports something incredible, the Jericho V Fragment has slowed down significantly, the tremor you just felt a few minutes ago is the fragment colliding against Cocoon Station's Starport, at the moment Corporate Security is being dispatched to the area and Genetectic's Trauma Team has also been called to the Starport to tend to the wounded. A containment zone is being raised around the impact due the radioactivity levels that the Fragment is emitting. Arc System's projections are now as follows: 16% of the Station suffering significant damages, essential systems (Life Support, Gravity) are largely unaffected with the exception of power, as there may be temporary outages on all the four Sectors for at least twelve hours. As Cocoon Station breathes out in relief, there are multiple witness accounts, including yours truly, describing a very strange emerald green glow on different areas of the Station a few minutes before the impact, and during it. Even right now some areas may still show this strange glow. While Arc Systems has confirmed sights of this glow, it remains unexplained what it means, or if it had anything to do with the impact proper.
