Genetectic Warns Impact Hazards

The catchy intro to the familiar medical talk show pans in on the Cocoon space port, and the site of the collapse that has been the focus of some attention. There are GTT and Trauma Team working with ARC in a search and rescue shift, and bodies that have been recovered and are awaiting transport nearby. While all of this is behind her, she is quite a bit in front of it, the angle of the camera lining it up so that she's not so close that she needs to be in environmental gear like the searchers.

“Thanks for tuning in. I'm near the site of the collapse at the Cocoon Starport that happened when the fragment of Jericho V impacted the station. As you can see, search efforts are ongoing. This dock was crowded at the time of impact, with people trying to get off of the station. While the impact itself was much less severe than it was projected to be, it still came at a cost. Which can be said for several events over the past couple of days, and why I'm taking time away from the recovery efforts to talk to the public and make a request.

Mass casualty events can bring out the best in people, full of helpful intentions. And I want to capitalize on that to our communal benefit. This is not about politics or economics, this is about humanity. Humanity. In its entirety is undergoing one of the largest mass casualty events in human history. With a death toll approaching ten million, we find ourselves facing surging new waves of fear and the unknown. To the point that some of our survival instincts have eclipsed that need to come together that has seen us through every mass casualty event previous to this.

Genetectic is aware of the rumors and side feeds and other information surrounding the fragments of Jericho V, and I will offer this. We have not ruled out an environmental hazard within these fragments, and because of that, we need to approach any impact site with environmental hazards in mind. Approaching the impact site without PPE, and decontamination before exiting the area risks contaminating another area of the station with something that we do not know yet how to fight.

That said? I'm asking for your help. Search and Rescue efforts are more successful the more people are participating in them. Learning how to search a collapse, identify structural hazards, protect yourself and the other people searching as well as survivors, are all easy skills to learn, and Genetectic is willing to teach you. And we're willing to pay you and provide protective gear to do it. Reach out to any Genetectic Employee and ask how you can help in the search and rescue efforts. We're working multiple impact sites in multiple theaters, including debris fields in space, and we would be happy for every freelancer willing to take up the contract.

Reach out to me, or any Genetectic employee for more information on how to join the Jericho V Search and Rescue Task Force.

Thank you again, and be good to yourselves, and to each other.”

The show's catchy outro posts a dedicated contact line to reach out to volunteers.
