The ShadowNET is a space on the HoloNet that was previously thought to be unregulated, and far from corporate hands. Despite claims to the contrary and evidence, users continue to flock to it, and under different aliases all kinds of business, transactions, exchanges, and even trash talks take place. Due to the nature of the community, one should take everything they claim with a grain of salt.
But sometimes, dark claims could also turn out to be true.
Following a tense exchange between a verified handled belonging to Adam Caine, and an entity known as "Eternity" linked to a would-be Transcendence War-era AI, a threat was issued: Either the entity and Adam Caine engage in combat, or there would be dire consequences to the attempts to heal Earth, at the moment spearheaded by the once disgraced Aegis Macrogenetics corporation. Twenty four hours passed since that threat, and a massive mobilization at Earth Site 0041Z, where the Blackwall has its physical location, was registered.
0041Z is also known to be the most secure location in all of the Sol System, with ARES, Armitech, Matsumoto, and NSI watching over it. Massive surges throughout different HoloNet sites and services have been detected (Likely to Eternity's unexplained ability to connect to the ShadowNET), NSI has issued a Net-wide alert due to the ongoing power and data surges users have been explaining, and has recommended extreme caution when dealing with information packages due the potential risk of legacy code infiltrating them.
