Thompson: "I'm Lucretia Thompson at the top of the hour and here... is the news."

[Holo pages of statistics and text appear before Thompson as she swipes and scrolls through them with her hands]

Thompson: "The Earth X-17 site is reclaimed as Armitech forces wrap up a week of sustained attacks on the Gaia Omega AIs that have besieged the area. Reports reveal mop up efforts for remnant forces are underway but the overall threat has been stifled for now with multiple Gaia mechs finally destroyed by the continued pressure of new Armitech field weaponry. With no word yet on when travel to X-17 will resume, Armitech officials assure us that it will be soon. Here to provide additional insight on these developments is ONN's own miltech correspondent, Martin Nauss. Nauss... welcome to the program."

Nauss: "Great to be here, thank you for having me."

Thompson: "Nauss, can you tell us how Armitech was able to defeat these powerful machines that once drove humanity from Earth? Why were they able to stop them now?"

Nauss: "Absolutely, you have to realize Armitech has a robust ongoing R&D department for weapons tech, like ARES it works to consistently develop something beyond the cutting edge released to the rest of the Sol system, that's what was decisive here. They fielded new ground mobile weapons platforms and new aerial suppression craft unseen until now... and that is what gave them the edge. They simply deployed gear that can go toe to toe with Gaia mechs and decisively fight them back..."

Thompson: "Will this be a huge windfall for Armitech in the 3rd Quarter? And did you get to see any of this new gear used on Earth up close?"

Nauss: "Absolutely, got a tour from Armitech Public Relations and saw some of the floor models up-close, obviously I can't share images while under NDA, but I'll say if I was an Omega AI, I would not want to fight these things. When Armitech releases footage of these weapons on Earth, I think it'll do for Armitech what the Mars stewardship did for ARES. Even as ARES chose to refocus themselves elsewhere, ARES sales and contracts reached record heights with the footage of the ARES defense of Mars, and we'll see the same thing here for Armitech..."

Thompson: "I'm sure there are many waiting for that footage, how long do you think it will be before travel to X-17 resumes?"

Nauss: "Armitech is mopping up the last of the smaller Omegas on X-17, and safely removing the skeletal cores and wreckage of the Omegas they've destroyed, which Armitech advises even powered down are still highly dangerous and should be secured by those experienced to handle them responsibly. Terrorists have already been travelling illegally to X-17 to try to secure parts from the Gaia mechs, Armitech has had to fight them at the same time they're fighting for X-17."

Thompson: "Deplorable, but I doubt they'll be any match for the new Armitech defensive line, thank you for coming, Nauss."

Nauss: "Absolutely, thank you for having me."

Thompson: "A new combat drug called 'Nitro' is claiming to help users fight Omegas, but Armitech says its developed from stolen Armitech IP that's been badly implemented and poses a severe risk to public health. Armitech released a statement about Nitro's side effects such as: accelerated metabolism, acne, adenomyosis, anemia, arrhythmia, aural/visual hallucinations, chills, cirrhosis, congestive heart failure, heatstroke, hemophilia, hyperhidrosis, hypothermia, impotence, night terrors, ocular bleeding, oppositional defiant disorder, rapid mood swings, tachycardia, and testicular atrophy. Armitech has vowed to stop the IP theft and destroy all supplies and suppliers of the drug. More on that, in the next segment..."
