ONN Science Desk/Glenn Morris Reporting

Good evening, ONN viewers. I'm Glenn Morris, a science journalist working with ONN and Mega LA's Institute of Technology. Tonight we have a follow up from a group of researchers monitoring and tracking the trajectory of the asteroid which earlier today came frighteningly close to taking Luna Colony wholly by surprise. The asteroid, while broken up, has still posed considerable danger to the colony it was set to collide with.

The efforts of the Luna Colony Orbital Defense Administrator did manage to avoid disaster, but as with every quick action, there are often unforeseen consequences. Normally, the defensive array would not result in hazards, and the cause is under investigation.

In the flight space between the moon and Earth now lay a debris field, filled with free-floating chunks of asteroid, moving in every direction away from the colony. For this reason, we are placing an advisory to ALL stations situated between the moon and Earth. Please be aware that stations may be subjected to smaller meteorite showers over the next 24 to 48 hours. Depending on the station's construction and where its orbit is situated, potential impacts may be unnoticeable or cause localized damage.

Researchers do not believe that these impacts will be anywhere near as significant as Luna Colony's, but falling debris may cause property damage or even pose safety risks. As always, exercise caution.

ONN Science desk, Glenn Morris reporting.
