MGM Press Release
This past Saturday evening, at Tiramisu, 7 lives were taken by the hands of a lunatic; someone who feels free to test the limits of the good citizens of Cocoon's patience and resolve. Someone who wants to make our citizens scared to even go out to a bathhouse without carrying a weapon.
History tells us that this type of fear mongering is nothing new. Though the party or parties behind this heinous and cowardly act claim they wish and act in the name of freedom, this action only brought about more tension to us, who reside on this station. As a great American president once said after a massacre of comparable heft, '...what we cannot do, is use this tragedy as one more occasion to turn on one another. We simply cannot do it. As we discuss these issues, let each of us do so with a good dose of humility...".
It was correct then, when the main issue was not of what we are made of, but what color our skin was. It remains correct now, as we figure out how to live peacefully despite what our composition is made of, be it flesh, or metal. We don't have to like each other, but we all have to be here, on this station, together, and to do that, we must communicate in a way that is not injected with the venom of hatred. This senseless violence will only be our demise.
That all said, MGM will be taking immediate measures to give our facilities a security overhaul, because the comfort and safety of our guests is a matter we take of the highest seriousness.
I wish the best for each citizen of Cocoon Station, and hope that we can find nonviolent methods to communicate, so that we can exist together as we've done so for so long now.
Sincerely, Cervantes Rexen, CEO of Morpheus Group Management
