ONN: ARES Brings Corporations Back

War has continued to rage through Mars and the entire Sol System has felt its effects, from a refugee crisis that has caused several space stations and floating cities to close its borders, to Earth Sites being overrun, and most famously, to a food shortage caused by Luna's Governor Bancroft acquiring most of the stock for Luna and corporations, and then closing its borders to any outsiders. That, added to Advanced Research and Experimental Systems finding several corporations operating in the dark with the intent to support the Martian Native Tribe Clans, has caused the root of the refugee crisis: Destroyed space stations.
You may recall in past reports that Gaius Space Station, Delta Space Station, and Papillon Space Station were all destroyed by ARES as their lead corporations (Romulus Corporation, Delta Labs Incorporated, and Mirage Cyber Works respectively) refused to comply by a New Geneva reinforced mandate, therefore, increasing the seriousness of the refugee crisis as an approximate three hundred thousand refugees were on the run looking for a new place to live, many of them are still in transit according to our latest report. Advanced Research and Experimental Systems ended up seizing all of their assets and taking over their SolBank accounts after summarily executing their boards of directors and their CEO's.
Today, Cassandra Areia has announced that after several talks with members of these three corporations, a new board of directors for each corporation would be created, new CEO's named, and ARES would be issuing contracts to fund these corporations and bring them back to life, their first order of business? Issuing immediate construction of Gaius II, Delta II, and Papillon II. The following is an excerpt from Cassandra Areia's statements on behalf of ARES.
| “It is regrettable what had to happen for several corporations to get the message: You either side with New Geneva, or you lose all the benefits and privileges that come with a corporate position. Because in the end, and because of these selfish actions, the only ones suffering are the people who are now displaced and looking for a new home. Advanced Research and Experimental Systems has empowered me to inform you that after several successful meetings with the new Boards of Directors to Romulus Corporation, Delta Labs Incorporated, and Mirage Cyber Works, these corporations are being brought back under the wing of New Geneva.
Each new CEO has signed a contract that enables ARES to oversee their operations as well as issue final approval on the usage of their budgets and for projects bigger than 100 million credits. As the new Boards regret the actions of their predecessors, they have all vowed to continue their corporate work, and their ARES mandates to better serve corporate interests as well. The first order of business was an action that enabled ARES to approve the budget for Project Revival, which will see newer, and better space stations built by each corporation. With these actions, ARES has decided to issue the Stage One budget to each corporation so the construction of these space stations (Gaius II, Delta II, and Papillon II) commence immediately. With these actions, Advanced Research and Experimental Systems once again shows that our only commitment is with the future of mankind, and Corporate Law, thank you.” |
At the time of this article, we have several reports of New Geneva sanctioned ships heading to the locations where the old space stations were and will begin an assessment and a possible salvage operation, these efforts are currently being overseen by ARES.
Of note, through the contract these corporations signed, it gives ARES not only authority to oversee and approve projects and budgets, but also 30% of each corporation's monthly revenue and stock market value. While this is seen by many as a genuine aid from ARES to these corporations, market specialists instead see this operation as turning Romulus Corporation, Delta Labs Incorporated and Mirage Cyber Works as nothing more than satellite corporations for ARES.
